Bollywood actor and politician Kangana Ranaut recently became part of a viral conversation after an old clip from the talk show Koffee With Karan resurfaced online, in which she shared a light-hearted anecdote about her co-star Akshaye Khanna.
The story came up during a fun segment of the show featuring Kangana alongside industry veterans Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. When asked about any past flirtatious moments, Kangana immediately mentioned Akshaye, much to the amusement of the hosts and audience. She explained that despite her attempts to interact more playfully with him, Akshaye largely kept to himself, which became a memorable and humorous anecdote shared on television.
In the clip, Kangana jokingly revealed that she once attempted to flirt with Akshaye while they were working together, but the actor didn’t respond to her advances and didn’t engage in much conversation. She said, “I first tried to talk to him, then tried flirting. But he never spoke to me. He never speaks. He doesn’t talk to anybody." But she did mention that Akshaye Khanna talk to Anil Kapoor. And he said, “Yes..he is younger brother to me".
This light-hearted confession has gained renewed attention amid Akshaye Khanna’s recent surge in popularity following the success of films like Dhurandhar, where he impressed audiences with his intense performance.
On the work front, Akshaye Khanna was last seen in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, where he played Pakistani gangster Rehman Dakait alongside Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan. The film emerged as an all-time blockbuster, earning Rs 1,000 crore in India and over Rs 1,300 crore worldwide.
In 2025, Kangana starred in Emergency, a historical biopic that she directed and co-produced. She portrayed Indira Gandhi in the film, which was based on a screenplay by Ritesh Shah, focusing on the Indian Emergency period from 1975 to 1977. Looking forward, she has an unnamed psychological thriller and a film called Bharatha Bhhagya Vidhata lined up for release.
