Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal have recently confirmed that they have called off their wedding on Sunday, December 7, leaving the fans stunned.
The former couple’s wedding was abruptly cancelled, fueling several shocking rumours and speculations. There were rumours that Smriti's friend had discovered Palaash, her fiancé, cheating on her. The cricket player has since stated that the wedding would never take place. She has also asked for privacy for both families.
Following the wedding cancellation, both Smriti and Palash unfollowed each other on social media.
Smriti and Palaash's pre-wedding festivities were in full swing, with several photos and videos from the fairytale proposal and Haldi ceremony going viral on social media.
However, the wedding was unexpectedly put on hold after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, fell ill on the wedding day. He was rushed to a hospital in Sangli after experiencing symptoms of a heart attack.
Just a day after Smriti’s hospitalisation, Palaash was also hospitalised in Sangli before being transferred to Mumbai for further assessment.
Smriti and Palash have recently issued an official statement for the first time. She has also finally spoken up about Palash's alleged infidelity after weeks of rumours and unconfirmed rumours.

She wrote about how her private life made national news on her Instagram tales. She added, nevertheless, that she had to make it obvious that her wedding was cancelled even though she is a private person.
Palash Muchhal also posted an official statement on Instagram story following Smriti Mandhana's announcement of the cancellation of her wedding. He affirmed that he has decided to end his relationship and move on with his life. He described it as the most challenging stage and emphasised how people respond to unfounded rumours. He also makes threats to file a lawsuit in response to disparaging remarks made about him.
