A new film looking back at 100 years of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has unveiled its trailer, offering a reflective glimpse into the organisation’s long and complex journey.

Titled Shatak, the film is narrated by Ajay Devgn, whose distinctive voice brings a sense of gravity and emotion to the story.

Rather than presenting itself as a conventional documentary, Shatak attempts to trace the human stories, ideas and convictions that have shaped the RSS over the past century.

Founded on 27 September 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the organisation began as a small volunteer movement before gradually expanding its reach across the country.

The film revisits these beginnings and also touches upon the ideological influence of Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar, whose thoughts played a key role in shaping its direction.

Conceptualised by Anil D Agarwal and directed by Aashish Mall, the film is produced by Vir Kapur, with Aashish Tiwari as co-producer. Backed by Ada 360 Degree LLP in collaboration with Panorama, Shatak is scheduled for a nationwide release on 20 February 2026.

Earlier Ajay Devgn also shared the teaser of the film and praised it. He took to X and mentioned, “RSS ko sau saal poore hone par dher saari badhaaiyan! Inn sau saalon mein rashtra nirmaan mein sangh ka bada yogdaan raha hai. Iss kaam par aur roshni daalne aa rahi hai film #Shatak Yeh rahi uski pehli jhalak. Shatak ke sampurn team ko meri ore se dher saari shubhkamnaye (Congratulations on RSS completing a hundred years! In these years, the Sangh has made a significant contribution to nation-building. The film #Shatak is coming to shed more light on this matter. Here's its first glimpse. My best wishes to the entire team of Shatak)”.

Speaking further about his association with the project, as quoted by Culture Cross Roads, Ajay Devgn said, “Heartfelt congratulations on the 100-year journey of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. A century is not merely a milestone in time, but a symbol of generations of commitment, sacrifice, and contribution to nation-building. Over these hundred years, the Sangh has played a significant role in shaping conversations around service, unity, and cultural identity. ‘Shatak’ attempts to shed light on this long journey. It is truly an honor for me to lend my voice to this story. This is not just the story of an organization, but the story of an idea that has stood firm through time while facing numerous challenges. Giving my voice to a narrative that speaks of resilience, faith, and collective purpose is an immensely meaningful experience.”
