Despite swirling rumours of a dispute between director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the lead cast of Love & War, sources have now stepped forward to clarify that the highly anticipated film remains on track with no fallout on set.
The multi-starrer, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, has been the subject of repeated production and scheduling updates—but insiders confirm that rumours of creative differences or conflict with Bhansali are unfounded.
Love & War is one of Bollywood’s most awaited projects of 2026, bringing together three of the industry’s leading actors under Bhansali’s visionary direction. Rumours about tension on set and discomfort among the cast were amplified online in recent weeks, alongside speculation about new delays to the movie’s release date. However, according to a source cited by Mid-Day, “there’s been no fallout” between Ranbir, Alia, Vicky and the filmmaker.
According to a report by Mid-Day, “The unit is currently on a scheduled year-end break. This was locked months ago.” The source added, “Bhansali films are mounted on a massive scale, so any pause is immediately seen as a delay.”
Industry insiders also clarified that Love & War was initially planned for a December 2025 release before shifting timelines took it toward the first half of 2026. The current target window is August 2026, following several extensions to production and shoot schedules. The film’s unit is expected to resume shooting by mid-January and continue into March, with post-production work running in parallel to support the planned release year.
While detailed plot points remain under wraps, Love & War is described as an epic romantic drama with war-era elements and intense emotional arcs—crafted in the signature style of Bhansali. The film’s ensemble cast has been working on elaborate sets and sequences, and the director’s meticulous approach to storytelling has contributed to the long production timeline.
