Ranveer Singh says he’s “too small” to comment on Rajinikanth’s greatness, eagerly waiting for Jailer 2

At the closing ceremony of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2025) in Goa, Ranveer Singh paid a heartfelt tribute to Rajinikanth, honoured for completing 50 years in cinema. With visible humility, Ranveer said he felt “too small to be speaking about this level of greatness.”

When the hosts invited him to say a few words, Ranveer paused, clearly awed by the legend’s legacy, before embarking on a tribute that turned into a standout moment of the evening. Instead of grand praise, he opted for sincerity, expressing his excitement for Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, Jailer 2, declaring that he is “looking forward to” it.

Ranveer recited Rajinikanth’s iconic dialogue ‘Hukum!’ from the film Jailer and pointed his microphone toward the crowd; the audience roared it back, echoing the legend’s powerful presence.

Rajinikanth, often hailed as Tamil cinema’s most iconic and longest-standing commercial superstar, commands an unmatched, nationwide cult following. After stepping into the industry with Apoorva Ragangal in 1975, he first gained attention through villainous roles before evolving into a larger-than-life hero whose films spark massive fan celebrations and deliver explosive box-office openings.

The superstar is now filming for Jailer 2, the follow-up to his 2023 hit in which he played the fierce Tiger Muthuvel Pandian. Ramya Krishnan is set to return to her earlier role, and Shiva Rajkumar has revealed he will make a cameo appearance. Telugu icon Balakrishna is also joining the cast in a significant role. In addition to this, Rajinikanth is gearing up for a major project with fellow legend Kamal Haasan, a collaboration that has already sent fans into a frenzy of anticipation.
