IMDb has unveiled its “Most Anticipated Indian Films of 2026” list, highlighting the movies generating the most buzz among global audiences ahead of their release this year. Topping the ranking is Shah Rukh Khan’s action thriller King, marking the superstar’s return to cinemas after a gap of more than two years, and setting fan expectations sky-high.

The IMDb top 20 list reflects a strong interest in Indian cinema across multiple languages. In total, there are 10 Hindi films, five Telugu films, three Tamil films, one Malayalam film and one Kannada film on the list, demonstrating how the year ahead is shaping up as a landmark one for diverse and high-profile Indian releases.

Following King in the rankings is Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana: Part I, an epic adaptation of India’s ancient classic, which promises large-scale storytelling and star power behind its ensemble cast. In third place is Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan, a highly anticipated Tamil film that has already grabbed headlines and stirred anticipation nationwide.

Also making the list are films like Prabhas’ Spirit and Yash’s Toxic, adding strong Southern cinema representation. Bollywood entries such as Salman Khan’s Battle of Galwan, war drama Border 2, and spy thrillers like Alpha and Dhurandhar 2 also rank among the most awaited titles, showcasing a mix of genres from epic action to intense dramas. LIK: Love Insurance Kompany, a Tamil sci-fi romantic comedy, also surprises fans by securing a spot in the top 10.

Beyond the top tier, the remaining anticipated films include titles like Fauzi, The Paradise, Peddi, Dragon, Love & War, Bhooth Bangla, Benz, Shakti Shalini, Patriot and O Romeo, rounding out a diverse list of cinematic experiences that audiences are keen to see this year.
