Actor Kartik Aaryan has officially begun shooting for his next film, Naagzilla, and the timing couldn’t have been more special — the day also marked one year since the release of his blockbuster Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
Sharing his excitement on Instagram, Kartik posted a photo from the muhurat ceremony, where he’s seen in a crisp white shirt holding the clapboard that kickstarted the project.
In his caption, he wrote, “1 Year of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3. Day 1 of #Naagzilla. Har Har Mahadev. 14th August 2026.”
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and produced by Dharma Productions, Naagzilla is set to release a day before Independence Day in 2026. Mahaveer Jain Films is also a co-producer of the fantasy comedy. The film's creators previously released a poster of Kartik standing in a huge snake pit, wearing blue jeans, with his back to the camera, staring at a far-off city skyline, when the movie was first announced.
The post was captioned, “Insanon wali picturein toh bohot dekh li, ab dekho naagon wali picture! Naagzilla — Naag Lok ka pehla kaand. Funnn phailaane aa raha hai Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand. Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki Sssssinemas mein 14 August 2026 ko.”
The brief teaser teases Kartik's character's supernatural abilities as his human skin starts to change into a green, scaly texture resembling that of a snake. In the background, his voice creates suspense for what appears to be an exciting and enjoyable fantasy journey.
Kartik will portray Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand in Naagzilla, a mythological shape-shifting serpent known as an ichchadhari naag who adds humour and bravery to the film.
Meanwhile, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which released on November 1, 2024, turned out to be one of the biggest hits of Kartik’s career, earning ₹421 crore worldwide. The film also featured Kiara Advani, Madhuri Dixit, and Vidya Balan in pivotal roles.
