The Sriram Raghavan–directed war drama Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda and veteran icon Dharmendra in his final film role, has crossed the ₹15 crore mark at the Indian box office by its third day of release. The film, which opened on 1 January 2026, has garnered a respectable total of approximately ₹15.15 crore in its opening weekend, according to early estimates.
Ikkis opened strongly with around ₹7 crore on Day 1, buoyed by a New Year’s Day holiday and positive word of mouth for its emotional storytelling and strong performances. On Day 2, the film saw a dip, earning roughly ₹3.5 crore, before showing some rebound on Day 3 with an estimated ₹4.65 crore. Despite this growth, overall theatre occupancy has remained moderate, reflecting a steady but not spectacular audience turnout.
While Ikkis’s weekend figures are decent for a serious war drama, its growth has been muted in comparison to rival releases. The Ranveer Singh–led blockbuster Dhurandhar continues to dominate screens and audience attention, making it the most formidable competition at present. Returns for Dhurandhar remain significantly higher, and its strong box‑office performance has overshadowed newer films like Ikkis.
Additionally, Ikkis has managed to outpace some other recent releases in earnings — notably outperforming films like Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri at the box office —, but it has not been able to challenge Dhurandhar’s commanding run.
The film stars Agastya Nanda as Arun Khetarpal, who tragically lost his life at just 21 during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Due to his remarkable bravery and ultimate sacrifice, he was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously, earning him the distinction of being the youngest recipient of India’s highest military honor at that time.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the film is co-written by Raghavan, Arijit Biswas, and Pooja Ladha Surti. It also features the late Dharmendra, alongside Simar Bhatia, Vivan Shah, Sikandar Kher, and Jaideep Ahlawat in key roles.
