Director Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has been earning widespread praise, not just for its gripping narrative and performances, but also for the attention to detail in its visuals. One particular moment from the film recently went viral online, prompting the filmmaker to clarify the intention behind it and why even seemingly small choices mattered.

The scene that sparked discussion features Ranveer Singh’s character, Hamza Ali Mazari, in a tense standoff with Danish Pandor’s Uzair Baloch. What caught fans’ eyes was the way the two held their guns: Hamza has his finger off the trigger, while Uzair’s finger rests on it.

Aditya Dhar took to Instagram to explain that this wasn’t a random framing decision but a deliberate reflection of their differing training and personalities.

In his post, Aditya Dhar described Hamza as a trained operative who keeps his finger off the trigger until necessary, highlighting discipline and deliberation rather than impulsiveness. In contrast, he said, Uzair’s trigger finger position suggested a lack of formal training and a greater risk of acting on emotion rather than calculated intent.

In Hamza’s character reference, he wrote, “A trained individual keeps their finger off the trigger until necessary, shooting with purpose and deliberation rather than impulsive emotion.”

And in Uzair’s reference, he wrote, “In contrast, an untrained person has their finger on the trigger, posing a risk of accidental discharge or acting out of anger, potentially harming innocent bystanders. Here’s the explanation, since many of you are asking me the difference.”

Fans had taken to social media to debate the significance of this detail, and Aditya’s explanation helped clarify his creative reasoning behind the shot. While most viewers might not consciously register such subtleties during their first watch, the director emphasized that these choices contribute to the depth and realism of the characters.

Madhavan in pivotal roles, and anticipation is building for the sequel, Dhurandhar 2, slated to hit theaters on March 19.
