Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi have been married for three decades, and despite the ups and downs over the years, they are still going strong.

During their latest YouTube video vlog, the couple has opened up about their marital struggles, how their love changed over time, and what eventually kept them together.

Parmeet reflected on their midlife years and said that as duties increased, romanticism gradually faded. They turned their attention to providing stability for their family, particularly for their kids. He revealed that throughout that stage, love changed from passion to a common goal.

Parmeet recalled, “During our mid-30s to mid-40s, we had common goals. Our romance had changed. The love you share becomes a common purpose, whether it’s your child or a shared dream."

He went on to say that their main goals were to provide a stable future for their child, save money for school, and construct a bigger house—all of which at the time required careful budgeting.

Archana said that Parmeet was frequently uneasy about her ambitious real estate goals. Even though she made it apparent that she wanted several properties, Parmeet originally responded with humour and incredulity.

Archana recalled the moment and said, “At first, he said, ‘Are you crazy? Two bungalows? We’ll end up getting divorced!’”

She acknowledged that even when she pushed for more than what felt comfortable, Parmeet always supported her choices, even in the face of his hesitancy and joking about divorce.

The pair also discussed how it caused conflict to transform partners into professional partners.

According to Archana, the same objective can bring two people together, but if boundaries are blurred, it can also drive them apart. Parmeet said that work gradually occupied their personal space, forcing them to terminate their production company. It became evident that working together was having a detrimental effect on their marriage as creative arguments increased in frequency and their bedroom gradually transformed into an office.

Archana and Parmeet tied the knot in 1992 and kept their nuptials a secret at first for a long time.
