Blake Lively refutes Megyn Kelly claim in ongoing legal battle

Journalist Megyn Kelly has stirred controversy after claiming that actress Blake Lively subpoenaed her in the midst of the star’s heated legal dispute with director Justin Baldoni. The accusation, however, has been swiftly denied by Lively’s camp, who maintain the TV host was never directly targeted.

A spokesperson for Lively sought to set the record straight, telling Page Six, “At no point in this litigation has Ms. Lively served a subpoena on Megyn Kelly.”

They explained that Lively’s focus remains on gathering evidence to back her allegations, adding: “Ms. Lively is continuing to pursue discovery in order to prove her case that Justin Baldoni, Jed Wallace, Melissa Nathan and the Wayfarer Parties retaliated against her for speaking up against the harassment she and others experienced on set, as alleged in her complaint.”

The representative stressed that discovery is a standard step in lawsuits, not a personal attack.

Kelly, however, used her SiriusXM programme to voice her frustration, insisting that she had been pulled into the legal drama unnecessarily. While she admitted her legal team successfully dismissed the matter, she launched into a fiery critique of the It Ends With Us actress, calling her a “narcissistic bully.”

In a pointed statement, she said, “Because Blake Lively was unable to fathom that yours truly had developed a genuine revulsion toward her on my own, she posited that I must have been ensnared in Baldoni’s alleged ongoing smear campaign against her.”

The 54-year-old broadcaster also pushed back against claims she was acting under Baldoni’s influence, acknowledging they share the same lawyer but firmly denying he had any say in her coverage.

She closed her segment with a cutting message aimed directly at Lively: “Newsflash, Blake: I came to those conclusions totally organically. Don’t give away your power, sweetheart. It was you! It was all you who made me unable to stand you. No man had anything to do with it.”

In reality, Lively’s subpoena was issued to Red Seat Ventures, Kelly’s former employer, rather than Kelly herself. The documents requested included references to Kelly and her show, which prompted Kelly’s sharp response: “Typical Blake Lively – once again obfuscating to try to avoid embarrassment for her own inappropriate behaviour.”

The actress has also subpoenaed other public figures such as Candace Owens and blogger Perez Hilton, the latter revealing he cannot afford legal representation and will face his hearing on 2 September alone.

While Lively presses on with her case, Baldoni continues to deny allegations of harassment and retaliation. His own $400 million countersuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds was dismissed earlier this year. The next major showdown is set for March 2026, when both sides return to court.
