K-pop sensation Rosé, who is a member of Blackpink, won big at the MTV Video Music Awards 2025. Rosé won the Song of the Year award for her hit song, APT, featuring Bruno Mars. The award was presented by Paris Hilton.
Rosé looked emotional and excited to receive the award as she made her way to the stage wearing a butter yellow gown. She also used the occasion to express her gratitude to her partner and said she would give Bruno Mars a call once she left the stage.
The singer thanked several people, including her team at her Korean agency The Black Label, her band members, as well as her U.S. label Atlantic Records. Additionally, the singer also gave a shoutout to herself.
Rosé admitted that one of her fears was that she might let down her 16-year-old self throughout her journey to global stardom.
Rosé said in the acceptance speech, “Twelve years later, I dedicate this award to my 16-year-old self who dreamed. And to all those who watched me grow into the artist I am today and placed their dreams in me to make this change.”
The singer added, “Every single one of you has put me here and now I believe there is no imposter in the world when MTV has given me this award here at the VMAs.”
However, the singer also gave a shout out to her fellow Blackpink members, Jisoo, Jennie and Lisa, along with Teddy Park, the group’s long-time producer and co-founder of her solo label, The Black Label.
Interestingly, the singer also mentioned her therapist while concluding her acceptance speech. She said, “As my therapist tells me to do every day, I’d like to thank myself for not giving up even in the toughest of times,” adding, “Always remember you’ve got you.”
Rosé’s song APT. was released in 2024 and instantly became a global phenomenon. The song broke all the records and spent 45 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
