Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan's latest release, horror comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which clashed with Ajay Devgn's Singham Again, has kicked off to a good start. The movie, which was released on Diwali (November 1), collected Rs 35.50 crore nett on Day 1.
It has become Kartik Aaryan's biggest opener in his career, spanning 13 years till now. His last release Chandu Champion, which opened to positive reviews, had collected Rs 5 cr approx on Day 1.
Kartik returned as Rooh Baba and is joined this time by Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit, who are both playing Manjulika. Tripti Dimri plays his love interest.
The movie's collection on Day 1 was very good, and it earned Rs 35.50 crore nett, according to Sacknilk.com.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 saw 75.30% overall Hindi occupancy on Friday, its first day of release. The morning shows had 50.67% occupancy, for the afternoon shows there was more occupancy (81.86%), and the evening and night shows saw an occupancy of 83.90%. and 84.77%, respectively. Mostly people went for the night shows.
The movie is likely to perform better today as it is an extended weekend and people are also relatively free after celebrating Diwali. Many families are likely to move out to enjoy a relaxed day with family.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 had 789 shows in Mumbai and as many as 957 shows in Delhi/NCR.
Kartik Aaryan also offered prayers at Siddhivinayak temple before the release of his movie. It is a ritual he follows before the release of his films.
Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is getting tough competition from Singham Again. But it seems like both movies have got their audience on Day 1.
This movie is directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by T-Series and Cine1 Studios.
Besides Kartik Aaryan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 also stars Vidya Balan, Tripti Dimri, Rajpal Yadav, and Madhuri Dixit in important roles.
