Actress and former Miss India Tanushree Dutta has once again made headlines—this time with a concerning Instagram video, where she opened up about a series of disturbing events she has been enduring for the past four to five years. In the emotional clip, Tanushree revealed that she has been a victim of consistent harassment involving house help stealing from her, loud daily disturbances, and repeated incidents of door banging. The cumulative impact of this harassment, she said, has affected her health severely. “I got worried and called the police...They asked me to come to the police station to file a proper complaint. I'm probably going tomorrow or the day after,” she stated.

Tanushree, best known for her role in Aashiq Banaya Aapne opposite Emraan Hashmi, has had a career marked by both glamour and controversy. Born in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, to Tapan and Shikha Dutta, she began her journey by stepping away from academics to pursue modelling. Her crowning moment came in 2003 when she won the Miss India title and went on to represent India at the Miss Universe pageant, finishing as the sixth runner-up.

Her Bollywood debut in 2005 catapulted her to fame, but Tanushree’s career took a drastic turn during the #MeToo movement in 2018, when she accused veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment on the sets of Horn OK Pleassss*. Though the case was eventually dismissed in 2019, it triggered a nationwide conversation about harassment in the film industry.

After the controversy, Tanushree withdrew from the spotlight and embarked on a spiritual journey. She reportedly spent over a year in an ashram, seeking healing and introspection. Her Instagram has since become a visual diary of her spiritual pursuits—temple visits, travels to sacred places like Ladakh, and Buddhist meditation practices. These posts reveal a woman striving for inner peace amidst outer chaos.

Interestingly, her recent absence from family events, including her nephew Vaayu’s birthday on July 19 this year, raised eyebrows. Vaayu is the son of her sister, actress Ishita Dutta, and actor Vatsal Sheth.

Despite a promising start in films like Bhagam Bhag, Dhol, and the Tamil film Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai, Tanushree’s last acting stint was in the 2013 TV series SuperCops Vs Super Villains. Now, as she navigates these new challenges, her recent spiritual path offers a poignant contrast to the personal turmoil she continues to face.
