The confusing symbols used for male and female restrooms in public places are a very modern-day problem that veteran actor Anupam Kher recently brought to light with a humorous video.
Anupam Kher posted a humorous video to his Instagram account, expressing his amusement at the increasingly abstract signage outside restrooms in studios, restaurants, and dubbing theatres.
In the video, he candidly remarks, “There’s one thing that I don’t understand these days. To indicate toilets meant for men and women, they add such images or signs that will often confuse you for some time.” He then proceeds to show examples from a studio's restroom area, where the signs, rather than being clear and straightforward, require a moment of interpretation.
The Vijay 69 actor asks, with his characteristic wit, why these symbols have grown so complicated when the older, simpler indicators functioned perfectly. Fans responded favourably to the post right away, with many commenting that they had encountered similar bewilderment in other public places.
In order to make the post humorous and broadly relatable, Anupam Kher captioned the video and asked his followers if they had encountered the same problem.
Many people took to the comment section to completely agree with this problem. One wrote, "Ha ha ha! Absolutely right!," another person mentioned, "Full support sir. Some things are better without adding creativity to them. Seedhe Men's/Women's would be much better."
On the professional front, Anupam Kher is enjoying a wave of appreciation for his latest project, Tanvi The Great. The film tells the heartwarming and inspiring tale of a young girl with autism who aspires to join the Indian Army, driven by the memory of her father who served in the forces.

Produced by Anupam Kher Studios in collaboration with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), the film has not only performed well at the Indian box office but also received critical acclaim at prestigious international film festivals in Cannes, New York, Houston, and London.
