Anees Bazmee clears air on Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 vs Singham Again clash: 'Some media personnel are misinterpreting my statement'

With both Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again set to release during Diwali, rumors of a box-office clash have been circulating. Amidst speculations of a possible postponement, the makers of both films have confirmed that their release dates remain unchanged.

While Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again has locked in its Diwali release, Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is also standing firm, creating anticipation around the potential clash.

Recently, filmmaker Anees Bazmee found himself at the center of a controversy after reports claimed he made dismissive remarks about Singham Again's release.

However, Bazmee has since issued a clarification, addressing the misinterpretation of his statements.

In a recent social media post, Bazmee expressed his disappointment with the media for misquoting him. “Some media personnel are misinterpreting my statement,” he said. “As a filmmaker with over three decades of experience, I focus on crafting compelling stories, not getting entangled in film release or business dynamics. I’ve seen many films succeed despite releasing on the same day.”

He further clarified, “Seems like my words were lost in translation. Let me rephrase: I’m thrilled for both Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Two amazing films, two talented teams! Let’s do it together.”

The controversy initially sparked after a Mid-Day article quoted Bazmee saying, “Clashes are never a good idea” and suggested he was reluctant to discuss the matter with Rohit Shetty’s team.

However, Bazmee emphasized that his remarks were taken out of context, adding that the decision of release dates lies with the producers and distributors, not the directors.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, produced by T-Series, will feature Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit. Singham Again, part of Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe, stars Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Arjun Kapoor, and introduces new characters played by Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff, with cameos by Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar.
