Delhi’s Khan Market is no stranger to celebrity sightings, but this time it blew up on Instagram. Actor Amit Sadh, best known for his roles in Kai Po Che and Breathe, was recenlty spotted in the upscale market after which he was approached by street photographers who at first didn’t recognise the actor . The video has since gone viral, leaving social media divided.

The clip, shared by content creators behind @therealstreets_, shows the duo walking up to Amit for their usual “stranger portraits.” Introducing themselves, they say, “We are portrait photographers and content creators. We take stranger portraits, So, we want to click some pictures of yours,"Amit, with a smiling face, replied, “Are you paying in bitcoins?” before adding, “I am an actor and I don’t work for free.” A joke, but one that set the tone.

When asked again, Amit Sadh leaned in and asked, “What do you want?, tell me” The creators requested a couple of photos. That’s when the awkward moment came, one of them admitted, “Humein laga hi tha aap koi actor ho, but yaad nhi aa raha tha kahan dekha hai aapko” (We thought you were an actor but couldn’t recognize where we saw you). Seconds later, a man in the background said in: “Amit Sadh.”

After this the actor said "Lelo bataokya krna hai?, Do you want me to walk," then the street photographers clicked few of his pictures.

The Reel has already crossed 1.8 million views on Instagram, with 70k likes and over 1,600 comments. Reactions are split—some blasted the creators for not recognising a known Bollywood face. “Never say you don’t remember someone’s name, it’s disrespectful,” one user wrote. Others defended the situation, praising Amit for handling it with grace. “I relate with the feeling of people looking at you & not being able to pinpoint where exactly they know you from,” another said.

For Amit Sadh, who keeps a relatively low profile despite his successful OTT and film career, the moment may have been routine. For Instagram though, it’s become yet another flashpoint in the debate over how fans and creators treat celebrities.
