On a lighter note, Devgn shared his excitement about returning to comedy with Son of Sardaar 2.

Actor Ajay Devgn, on Friday, addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding Diljit Dosanjh’s film Sardaar Ji 3, which has come under fire for featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Sharing his perspective at the trailer launch of Son of Sardaar 2, Devgn emphasized the importance of dialogue in the face of differing viewpoints.

While interacting with the media at Son of Sardaar 2's trailer launch event, Ajay said, “When there are two differing points of view, you need to sit down and resolve issues through conversation."

He refrained from taking sides, adding, “I don’t know where the trolling comes from (or) what is right and what is wrong. I’m not in his shoes to comment on that. He would’ve had his problems, and people are thinking from their point of view. So, when you’ve two different points of view, then you can sit and solve it out together. I’ll not blame anybody or say that this is right or wrong; they need a conversation.”

When Dosanjh released the trailer for Sardaar Ji 3, which debuted on June 27 abroad but was not released in India, the controversy started last month. Social media users and groups such as the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) expressed disapproval of the film, accusing Dosanjh of working with Hania Aamir in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

Following the government's decision to require Hindi as a third language in state-run primary schools, Devgn was questioned about the ongoing language dispute in Maharashtra during the same press conference. Referencing his well-known statement, Devgn replied, "The only answer I'll give you about the language thing which is going on is 'Aata Maaji Satakli.'"

On a lighter note, Devgn shared his excitement about returning to comedy with Son of Sardaar 2. “I didn’t realise I’m doing comedy after six years, but it was a lot of fun doing this film. The script was very funny. When we decided to do Son of Sardaar 2, the important thing was that the humour quotient had to be more than the first part, and we are glad we cracked that kind of a script,” he said.

Directed by Ashwni Dhir, the first installment, Son of Sardaar (2012), featured Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and Mukul Dev, who died this May at the age of 54. It told the tale of Jaswinder "Jassi" Singh Randhawa (Devgn), who gets sucked into an unanticipated feud after returning from London to sell his Punjabi ancestral property.

Devgn's character imitates Sunny Deol's iconic role from Border in one of the scenes in the upcoming sequel. He also recalled, “He is my neighbour. When we were young, Bobby and I were growing up together, and Sunny paaji was someone whom we respected and looked up to. We still talk about the punch he gives on screen; nobody can beat him.”

Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, Son of Sardaar 2 boasts an ensemble cast featuring Ravi Kishan, Sanjay Mishra, Mrunal Thakur, Chunky Panday, Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Dobriyal, Ashwini Kalsekar, Kubbra Sait, Roshni Walia, and Sharat Saxena. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, N R Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja, and is set to hit theatres on July 25.
