In a major twist in the ongoing drug investigation involving Tamil cinema personalities, popular actor Krishna has been arrested by the Chennai police. This development follows closely on the heels of the arrest and imprisonment of actor Srikanth, who is also allegedly linked to the same case.
Sources revealed that the arrest took place after a detailed two-hour search at Krishna’s residence in Besant Nagar, Chennai. The operation was carried out by a special investigation team based on information reportedly provided by Srikanth during his interrogation. According to police officials, Srikanth disclosed details of a drug trafficking network, naming Krishna as a potential associate.
Initially, the authorities had intended to summon Krishna for questioning. However, when he could not be located and was believed to be in hiding, the police intensified their efforts and formed a special task force to track him down. The actor was soon located and taken into custody.
During questioning, Krishna strongly denied any involvement in drug-related activities. “I am not addicted to drugs,” he told investigators. “I have heart and stomach issues, so I cannot take such substances.” His statement was later supported by medical reports, which indicated no trace of drug usage in his system.
Despite this, the police have confirmed that the investigation is still in progress. The search of his residence reportedly yielded some digital evidence, though details have not been disclosed. Authorities have stated that further steps will depend on the analysis of the seized items and ongoing inquiries.
The arrest of Krishna has caused a stir within the film industry, with many expressing shock over his alleged connection to the drug network. Industry insiders are concerned about the wider implications, as this marks yet another high-profile name entangled in the growing scandal.
As the probe deepens, the police have indicated that more individuals could come under scrutiny. Meanwhile, Krishna remains in custody as investigators continue to examine the extent of his alleged involvement in the case.
