Actor Lakshya revealed that Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal personally reached out to him after watching Kill and praised his performance, particularly his action scenes. Lakshya made his big-screen debut with the action-packed thriller, which was produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga, and also starred Tanya Maniktala and Raghav Juyal.
Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Kill hit theaters on July 5 and received rave reviews from both critics and audiences. Speaking about Vicky Kaushal's praise, Lakshya shared, “Vicky came out to me after watching the film. He is (veteran action director) Sham sir’s son, so he understands action. He said it (the film) was not just action. There’s so much emotion and every punch had a certain emotion. It meant a lot.”
Kill centers on the journey of Amrit, an Indian Army commando played by Lakshya, who falls in love with Tulika, portrayed by Tanya Maniktala. However, their world is turned upside down when they find themselves trapped on a train hijacked by the ruthless dacoit Fani, played by Raghav Juyal, and his gang.
Lakshya expressed his gratitude to the audience for the love they’ve shown the film, saying, “As an artist, you always look out for validation and confidence. The degree of success that I’ve achieved, through this film, is amazing. I want this feeling to always be there (with me) and never leave my side.”
Reflecting on his career, he added, “Luckily now, I’m in a position where I can select the kind of work I want to do. But I still have to strive a lot to reach where I want to, so I’ll have to do better films and keep performing.”
Lakshya’s Bollywood debut, Kill, became a box-office hit, earning widespread acclaim from both critics and audiences.
The film follows the gripping journey of Amrit Rathod (played by Lakshya), a soldier who turns into a merciless killer after his fiancée is brutally murdered by Fani, a dangerous dacoit, during a violent train hijacking. Adding to the tension is Fani’s father, Beni, who disapproves of his son’s ruthless methods, creating a complex dynamic within the film’s intense storyline.
