Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had a brief but cheerful interaction with Bollywood actor Aamir Khan at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Tuesday. The meeting occurred during the Chief Minister’s official visit to meet President Droupadi Murmu.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the encounter was spontaneous. "When Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet the President, he had a brief encounter with the sensitive Bollywood actor-director Aamir Khan. They exchanged pleasantries and conveyed best wishes to each other,” the CMO stated.
Eyewitnesses shared that Siddaramaiah waved at Aamir Khan upon spotting him at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. In response, the actor greeted the Chief Minister with folded hands. The two then shook hands and shared a warm, lighthearted exchange. Photos capturing the moment have gone viral on social media, drawing widespread attention and admiration.
CM Siddaramaiah arrived in the national capital on Monday night for a series of important meetings. Apart from his scheduled meeting with President Murmu, he is set to meet Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday at 4:50 p.m.

During his meeting with the President, Siddaramaiah is expected to discuss several key state legislations awaiting presidential assent. Among the seven bills pending approval are the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Karnataka Amendment) Bill, 2015, and the Karnataka (Mineral Rights and Mineral Bearing Land) Tax Bill, 2024.
Also on the agenda are discussions surrounding the Karnataka Transparency in Public Procurements (Amendment) Act, 2025, which proposes a 4% quota for Muslims in government contracts, and the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments (Amendment) Act, 2024.
The Chief Minister is also set to raise the issue of Karnataka’s reduced allocation of central funds. He has emphasized that the state has lost nearly ₹80,000 crore compared to previous allocations under the 14th Finance Commission. This matter is expected to feature prominently in his meeting with Finance Minister Sitharaman.
