West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced the party’s Lok Sabha list of 42 candidates during a mega public rally at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade grounds on March 10.
Former cricketer Yusuf Pathan and party leader Mahua Moitra are among the candidates. Pathan will contest from Berhampore which is currently represented by Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. Expelled Lok Sabha MP Moitra will contest from Krishnanagar.
Among some of the prominent names, Bengali film actor Dipak Adhikary will contest from his usual constituency Ghatal, former cricketer Kirti Azad from Bardhaman-Durgapur, and Bollywood veteran Shatrughan Sinha will contest from Asansol.
The party renominated 16 sitting MPs and fielded 12 women.

Addressing the "Jana Garjan Sabha" rally, Trinamool leader Abhishek Banerjee alleged that BJP is "anti-Bengal". Banerjee will be contesting from the Diamond Harbour constituency.
Sitting MP and actor Nusrat Jahan from Basirhat (the constituency of Sandeshkhali) was dropped from the list. Haji Nurul Islam will be contesting from the seat.
Actor Saayoni Ghosh will be contesting from the Jadavpur constituency following actor Mimi Chankraborty's announcement that she wanted to quit politics.
