Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to begin a two-day visit to his home state Gujarat on May 1, where he will address six public gatherings, including 11 Lok Sabha constituencies.
Modi will speak at two public gatherings in Deesa in Banaskantha and in Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha on May 1, which is observed as the state's Foundation Day.
The Lok Sabha seats of Patan and Banaskantha will be the focus of the public gathering in Deesa. Modi will address on May 2 at Anand, Wadhwan of Surendranagar, Junagadh, and Jamnagar.
Modi will campaign for the Lok Sabha seats of Anand, Kheda, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Junagadh, Porbandar, Amreli, and Jamnagar during these public gatherings.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has scheduled public gatherings and rallies featuring its top campaigners throughout the week. The BJP is hoping to replicate its success from the last two Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and 2019, when it won all 26 seats. Attempting to match up is the Congress, which suffered an early defeat in Surat when BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal was proclaimed the winner before the polls.
Before the state's campaigning comes to a conclusion, the Congress has also scheduled its biggest crowd-pullers for this week. On May 3, at Lakheni Banaskantha, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, general secretary of the All India Congress Committee, will give a speech at a rally. P Chidambaram and Mallikarjun Kharge, two more prominent members of the Congress, are preparing to persuade the people of the state to cast ballots in favour of a change.
While the BJP is counting on Brand Modi to win all 26 seats in Gujarat, including Surat, societal problems pertaining to Kshatriyas and Rajputs are prevailing in several constituencies, particularly in the Saurashtra area. BJP officials, meanwhile, are putting on a brave front and downplaying any worries, saying the Congress has vanished from the ground up.
The three main objectives of BJP rallies are to project Viksit Bharat goals, document the accomplishments of the previous 10 years, and challenge the Congress wherever feasible, said media reports.
