A day after the Election Commission announced the poll dates for the Maharashtra assembly election, the Mahayuti grouping on Wednesday in a presser listed its key work over the last two years.
A ‘report card’ of the work carried out by the government was released by chief minister Eknath Shinde, deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, in the presence of Ramdas Athavale, Sunil Tatkare, Sadashiv Khot, Pravin Darekar and Prasad Lad.
The Mahayuti leaders have sounded the poll bugle, where the ruling Mahayuti will see a direct fight with the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
Speaking at the briefing, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said that all sections of the society were considered during the Government’s tenure. “We tried to give justice to each community. This report reflects the change we have brought in the lives of the people of Maharashtra.
"Fake narratives are being set by the Opposition. They had claimed that elections will be held in two-three phases. But it is the right and prerogative of the Election Commission. Report card 2022 is presented in front of you. Today, 2.5 crore women are given instalments of Laadki Bahin Yojana. This has created confusion amid the Opposition which tried to spread rumours about us. We have already made financial allocation for the implementation of Laadki Bahin Yojana for one year,” added Pawar.
The Mahayuti leaders added that during the MVA regime, the state was at the third spot behind Gujarat and Karnataka. "We are bringing more industries and projects to Maharashtra. We have provided a red carpet to all industries,” the leaders quipped.
“We have brought industries in districts like Gadchiroli which are tribal districts. Job generation is happening at a good pace as compared to the last government. Maharashtra has now become an industry-friendly state,” they added.
According to sources quoted by News 18, Shinde, Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar will meet senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday afternoon, to discuss the seat-sharing formula ahead of the scheduled polls.
The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance is facing a challenge from the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition of the Congress-NCP(SP)-Shiv Sena (UBT), which hopes to repeat its performance in the Lok Sabha elections. The opposition MVA alliance won 31 of the 48 seats in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha elections.
