The registration deadline for the monumental Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025 has been extended. Young innovators from across India now have more time to register, with the new deadline set for October 11, 2025. Students can submit their team applications and project concepts directly on the official portal at vbb.mic.gov.in.
The initiative, touted as potentially the "world's largest live innovation activity," aims to mobilise over one crore students from approximately 2.5 lakh schools, marking a historic step towards realizing the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision.
What is the Viksit Bharat Buildathon 2025?
More than just a competition, the Viksit Bharat Buildathon is a nationwide movement designed to ignite the spirit of innovation and practical problem-solving in students from grades 6 to 12. Launched by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, the program is firmly aligned with the hands-on, experiential learning goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The core mission is to empower students to create tangible projects and solutions that contribute to national development, fostering Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) and positioning India as a global hub for emerging talent.
Students will work in teams of five to seven to ideate, design, and develop prototypes addressing critical national themes. A standout feature of the Buildathon is its inclusive nature, with a special focus on engaging students from Aspirational Districts, and Tribal and Remote Regions, ensuring a truly pan-India participation.
