Union Public Service Commission will close the online registration for UPSC CSE 2026 today, February 27, 2026, at 6 pm. Eligible candidates can apply through the official portal upsconline.nic.in. The deadline was extended following technical issues and heavy traffic. The extension also covers the Indian Forest Service Examination 2026.
The Commission extended the deadline after portal disruptions. Many candidates faced login errors and slow loading. Several applicants reported difficulty completing application forms. Heavy traffic caused technical slowdown near the earlier deadline. The Commission said the move ensures equal opportunity. Candidates are advised to submit forms early.
Through CSE 2026, UPSC will fill 933 vacancies. These posts are across various Central Government services. Selection will follow a three stage examination process. The stages include preliminary examination and main examination. A personality test or interview follows later. Candidates must clear each stage to qualify.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree qualification. The age limit is between 21 and 32 years. Upper age relaxation applies for reserved categories. UPSC clarified rules for serving officers. Officers in IAS, IPS or IFS cannot reappear. They must resign before appearing again.
