The Uttar Pradesh government has approved a uniform three-year age relaxation for all candidates applying to 32,679 constable posts. The directive, issued under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, marks a major shift in the ongoing UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) process for 2025.

The online application window for the direct recruitment of Constable Civil Police and equivalent positions is currently active on the Board's official portal, uppbpb.gov.in. The deadline for submissions is January 30, 2026.

The state administration stated that the age concession applies uniformly across all categories. Previously, upper age limits varied, potentially barring older aspirants. Under the new guidelines, the standard eligibility age for male candidates is 18 to 25 years, and for female candidates, 18 to 28 years. The approved relaxation adds three years to these maximum limits across the board.

"The welfare of the youth of the state is our highest priority," Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in an official statement. "This decision reflects respect for the aspirations and hard work of millions of young people in Uttar Pradesh."
