
The Maharashtra CET Cell has announced a revised extension for submitting applications for the MHT CET 2026. This entrance exam is the gateway for admissions into prestigious Engineering, Pharmacy, and Agriculture programs across the state.
Candidates who have yet to complete their registration can now access the application portal through the official MAHACET website at cetcell.mahacet.org.
According to the latest official notice released by the examination authority, the timeline for registration has been adjusted to accommodate late applicants. Here are the updated important dates:
Last Date to Apply (Without Late Fee): February 24, 2026
Last Date to Apply (With Additional Fee): February 27, 2026
Applicants are strongly advised to complete the process before the final cutoff to avoid last-minute technical glitches.
Important Update Regarding APAAR ID
In a significant change to the application process this year, the CET Cell has made the APAAR ID mandatory. Candidates who have not yet generated their APAAR ID must create it via DigiLocker before they can successfully fill out the MHT CET application form.
Steps to apply for MHT CET 2026
If you haven't registered yet, follow this simple guide to secure your spot for the examination:
Step 1. Go to the official website of the Maharashtra CET Cell at cetcell.mahacet.org.
Step 2. On the homepage, look for the flashing or highlighted link that says "MHT CET 2026 Registration" or "Apply Online."
Step 3. Click the link. New users will need to click on "Register" and provide basic details such as name, email ID, and mobile number to generate login credentials.
Step 4. Use the generated credentials to log in and access the main application form.
Step 5. Fill in all required personal and academic details accurately. Ensure you upload scanned documents as per the specifications mentioned in the information brochure.
Step 6. Proceed to the payment gateway to submit the application fee. Note that payments processed between February 24 and February 27 will incur an additional late fee.
Step 7. After payment, review all details carefully. Click on the final "Submit" button.
Step 8. Download the completed application form and the payment confirmation page. Keep a hard copy (printout) for future reference and the counselling process.
MHT CET 2026 Exam Schedule
The Maharashtra CET will be conducted in two separate attempts this year. Candidates can appear for one or both attempts, with the best score being considered for merit.
First Attempt: April 11 to April 26, 2026
Second Attempt: May 10 to May 17, 2026
Exam Mode and Timings
The examination will be conducted exclusively online (Computer-Based Test) at various exam centres across Maharashtra. The tests for PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) groups will be held separately.
