Ladki Bahin Yojana e-KYC: The Maharashtra government has made it compulsory for all beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana to complete their e-KYC. A government resolution issued on Thursday confirmed that the e-KYC must be done within two months to continue receiving benefits under the scheme.
What Is the Ladki Bahin Yojana?
Launched on 28 June 2024, the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana aims to support women’s financial independence. Eligible women receive Rs. 1,500 per month. The scheme covers women aged 21 to 65 whose annual family income does not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.

Why Is e-KYC Mandatory?
The government found that over 26 lakh ineligible beneficiaries, including men, had enrolled and received payments. To ensure only eligible women benefit, Aadhaar-based e-KYC has been made mandatory. If the e-KYC is not completed, payments will be stopped. Beneficiaries must also complete e-KYC every year.
