Karnataka PSI Exam 2024 Likely to Proceed as Scheduled Despite Appeals for Postponement

Karnataka Police SI Exam 2024: As the Karnataka Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) recruitment exam approaches, local media reports indicate that the Government of Karnataka is resolute in its decision to keep the examination on its scheduled date of September 22. Despite growing calls for postponement, there has been no official confirmation from the state authorities.

The push for rescheduling arose from a clash with two prominent national examinations: the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Mains and the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) CGL Tier 1 Prelims. This overlap has led to concerns among candidates who have applied for all three exams.

The Karnataka BJP has taken a strong stance on this issue, urging the Congress-led state government to consider postponing the PSI exam. The party's demand is driven by the need to accommodate aspirants who are now faced with the challenge of choosing between these significant examinations.

B.Y. Vijayendra, State BJP President, voiced the party's concerns on social media platform X, highlighting the historical context of similar issues. He recalled the recent debacle with the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), where flaws in a question paper led to widespread criticism and a subsequent re-examination.

In response to the scheduling conflict, candidates who have applied for the UPSC, SSC, and PSI exams have reached out to Vijayendra, requesting his intervention. Their letter highlights the plight of many aspirants from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who have invested years in preparing for these exams.

Despite these appeals, the state government has yet to provide any official statement regarding the potential rescheduling of the PSI exam. As the date approaches, candidates remain hopeful for a resolution that would allow them to participate in all three crucial assessments without compromising their opportunities
