JEE Main Syllabus: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate engineering courses such as B.E. and B.Tech across India. Paper 1: B.E./B.Tech
- Mode of examination: Computer-based test (online)
- Duration: 3 hours
- Subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
- Total questions: 75
- Questions per subject: 25
- Total marks: 300
Each subject is divided into two sections:
- Section A: 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
- Section B: 5 numerical-value questions (all compulsory)
Candidates are not allowed to use calculators or any electronic devices during the exam.
Marking Scheme for JEE Main 2026
- Correct answer: +4 marks
- Incorrect answer: –1 mark
- Unattempted question: 0 marks
- Negative marking applies to both MCQs and numerical-value questions in Paper 1.
