The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a final notice to all affiliated schools, instructing them to upload mandatory documents and staff details on their respective websites. This reminder follows several earlier circulars emphasising the need to publish essential information as part of the Mandatory Public Disclosure requirements.
Non-Compliance ObservedIn its circular, CBSE mentioned that many schools have not complied with its directives. While some schools lack functional websites altogether, others with websites have either not uploaded the required information or have done so only partially. In some cases, links to the uploaded documents are inactive, and in others, the prescribed information is not prominently displayed on the homepage, making it inaccessible to the public.
30-Day Deadline IssuedCBSE has now given schools a 30-day deadline to meet the requirements. Schools are expected to upload all prescribed information and documents, including staff qualifications, in the specified format. The circular also warns that failure to comply within this timeframe will lead to strict action, including penalties, as outlined in Chapters 12 and 13 of the CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, 2018.
The official notice reads, “The Board is giving one final opportunity to all affiliated schools who have not yet complied with the above instructions. Schools must upload all prescribed information and documents in an unambiguous and absolute manner within 30 days of the issue of this Circular, failing which the Board shall be constrained to initiate necessary proceedings and impose penalties against the erring schools.”
