A Holi celebration in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district took a disturbing turn when a four year old boy sustained serious burn injuries after his grandmother allegedly threw boiling water on him.
The incident was reported from the Koradi locality, specifically Ward No. 2 in the Aramshin area, on March 3. The episode was recorded on a CCTV camera, police said.
According to investigators, the child, Om Harish Wange, had been playing outside his home with a spray bottle containing paint. During the course of play, some of the paint accidentally landed on his grandmother, identified as Sindhu Thackeray, who was drawing hot water from a bucket heated on Holi wood.
Police said the woman reacted angrily and allegedly emptied the bucket of boiling water onto the child.
