A 23-year-old house surgeon working at a government hospital in Telangana’s Siddipet died by suicide while undergoing treatment on Sunday, police said.

The woman, who belonged to the Scheduled Caste community, was found unconscious on the hospital premises on Saturday.

According to a complaint filed with the Gachibowli police, the boy’s father, D Mohan, who works as a watchman, said the incident occurred after the child was allegedly reprimanded by his mother.

The father told police that his wife had asked their son to arrange his schoolbag for the next day. After some time, when she went into the bedroom, she found him unresponsive. She immediately informed her husband, but by the time he reached home, the boy had already died.
