A hidden camera was found inside the women’s toilet of a cinema theatre in Bengaluru, triggering panic and outrage among moviegoers. The incident took place at Sandhya Theatre, which comes under the Madiwala police station limits.

The camera was noticed when women stepped out to use the washroom during a screening of the re-released Telugu film Nuvvu Naaku Nachav. On spotting the device, they alerted others in the theatre.

Local people quickly caught a youth suspected of placing the camera and handed him over to the police. Before the police arrived, the accused was allegedly assaulted by members of the public.

Police have taken the youth into custody and begun questioning him. They are trying to find out why the camera was planted and whether any video footage was recorded or shared.

Police officials said that a detailed investigation is underway and further action will be taken based on the findings.
