A married woman was allegedly abducted and gangraped by three armed men in front of her brother-in-law in Udham Singh Nagar’s Rudrapur on Sunday night. The victim, in her statement to the police, reportedly detailed the threats levelled against her. She was warned of dire consequences, including death, should she report the crime.

Following the ordeal, the survivor managed to file a complaint, prompting the local police to initiate an investigation. According to TOI, Circle Officer (City) Prashant Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections 70 and 351(3) against unknown persons.

However, sources indicate that the investigation is taking a significant turn as authorities focus on the survivor's brother-in-law. Given that the accused were known to him, police teams are conducting intense questioning to ascertain his role and identify the absconding suspects.
