After launching the MG M9 electric MPV, JSW MG Motor India is gearing up to introduce the MG Cyberster electric roadster. Loaded with features like scissor doors and a convertible rooftop, the world's fastest MG will enter the Indian market on July 25.
Both M9 and Cyberster will be sold via the premium MG Select dealerships. The MG is available for an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 69.90 lakh.
While the M9 is being assembled in India from completely knocked down (CKD) kits, the Cyberster is a completely built-up (CBU) model.
Loaded with a 510 PS/725 Nm electric motor, which draws power from a 77 kWh battery, the Cyberster can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds, hence the 'World's Fastest MG' tag.
According to JSW MG, the Cyberster is an all-wheel-drive (AWD) model with its chassis tuned by F1 engineer Marco Fainello. Its 20-inch alloy wheels are shod with Pirelli tyres. There are high-performance Brembo brakes for handling the braking duties.
The roadster brings with it four drive modes -- Comfort, Sport, Custom and Super Sport. There is also a Launch Control feature, in case more power is required. The cabin is completely driver-focussed with a sport steering wheel and wrap-around triple digital display.
With Level-2 ADAS, you get features like adaptive cruise control, speed limit assist, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, active emergency braking, lane change assist, rear cross alert and blind spot detection.
Since it is a CBU model with higher import tariffs, we expect the MG Cyberster price in India to be higher than that of the MG M9.
