Mahindra, Tata offer benefits up to Rs 2.56 lakh; Bolero, XUV 3XO, Scorpio, Punch, Nexon, Safari get cheaper

Prospective buyers can avail significant benefits at present on Mahindra and Tata models.

Homegrown carmakers like Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors are offering handsome benefits, as high as Rs 2.56 lakh, on their SUVs and other models, to enhance the festive season sales.

The total benefits are in the form of price cuts due to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate rationalisation and additional benefits.

MAHINDRA BENEFITS (GST PRICE CUT + ADDITIONAL BENEFITS)

Mahindra's internal combustion engine (ICE) portfolio comprises SUVs like the Bolero/Bolero Neo, XUV 3XO, Thar, Thar Roxx, Scorpio Classic, Scorpio-N and XUV700.

Thanks to the GST revision, the ex-showroom prices have dropped by up to Rs 1.27 lakh on the Bolero/Bolero Neo, Rs 1.56 lakh on the XUV 3XO, Rs 1.35 lakh on the Thar, Rs 1.33 lakh on the Thar Roxx, Rs 1.01 lakh on the Scorpio Classic, Rs 1.45 lakh on the Scorpio-N, and Rs 1.43 lakh on the XUV700.

As far as additional benefits go, buyers can save up to Rs 1.29 lakh on the Bolero/Bolero Neo, Rs 90,000 on the XUV 3XO, Rs 20,000 on the Thar, Rs 20,000 on the Thar Roxx, Rs 95,000 on the Scorpio Classic, Rs 71,000 on the Scorpio-N, and Rs 81,000 on the XUV700.

Cumulatively, the total savings work out to as much as Rs 2.56 lakh on the Bolero/Bolero Neo, Rs 2.46 lakh on the XUV 3XO, Rs 1.55 lakh on the Thar, Rs 1.53 lakh on the Thar Roxx, Rs 1.96 lakh on the Scorpio Classic, Rs 2.16 lakh on the Scorpio-N, and Rs 2.24 lakh on the XUV700.

TATA BENEFITS (GST PRICE CUT + ADDITIONAL BENEFITS)

Tata sells ICE models like the Tiago hatchback, the Altroz hatchback, and the Tigor sedan. Among its ICE SUVs are the Punch, Nexon, Curvv, Harrier and Safari.

With the GST restructuring, the Tiago is cheaper by up to Rs 75,000, while the Tigor gets a price reduction of Rs 81,000. The Punch is down by Rs 1.08 lakh, and the Altroz by Rs 1.11 lakh. The Nexon sees the biggest cut of Rs 1.55 lakh, followed by Rs 1.44 lakh on the Harrier and Rs 1.48 lakh on the Safari. The Curvv also gets a reduction of Rs 67,000.

Buyers can avail additional discounts of up to Rs 45,000 on the Tiago, Rs 30,000 on the Tigor, Rs 50,000 on the Punch, and Rs 65,000 on the Altroz. The Nexon comes with benefits of up to Rs 45,000, the Curvv with Rs 40,000, while the Harrier and Safari both get up to Rs 50,000.

When you add the GST cuts and the festive discounts, the overall savings get much bigger. Buyers can save up to Rs 1.20 lakh on the Tiago and Rs 1.11 lakh on the Tigor. The Punch offers savings of Rs 1.58 lakh, while the Altroz goes up to Rs 1.76 lakh. The Nexon gives the highest benefit of up to Rs 2 lakh, followed by Rs 1.94 lakh on the Harrier and Rs 1.98 lakh on the Safari. The Curvv too brings total savings of Rs 1.07 lakh.
