Hema Malini remembers 'love' Dharmendra on his birth anniversary: "I thank God for our lovely years together"

Taking to X on Monday, Hema Malini posted two beautiful pictures of herself with Dharmendra, accompanied by a message filled with grief, gratitude, and everlasting love.

Dharmendra , one of Indian cinema’s most cherished and iconic stars, left the world on November 24, 2025. And today, December 8, 2025, marks what would have been his 90th birthday. On this deeply emotional day, his wife and veteran actress Hema Malini paid a heartfelt tribute, sharing cherished photographs and a moving note as she remembered the love of her life.

Taking to X on Monday, Hema Malini posted two beautiful pictures of herself with Dharmendra, accompanied by a message filled with grief, gratitude, and everlasting love.

She wrote, "Dharam ji. Happy birthday my dear heart. More than two weeks have passed since you left me heartbroken, slowly gathering up the pieces and trying to reconstruct my life, knowing that you will always be with me in spirit. The joyful memories of our life together can never be erased and just reliving those moments bring me great solace and happiness."

Reflecting on their journey together, she continued, "I thank God for our lovely years together, for our two beautiful girls who reaffirm our love for each other and for all the beautiful, happy memories that will remain with me in my heart. On your birthday. My prayers for God to grant you the wealth of peace and happiness that you richly deserve for your humility and goodness of heart and your love for humanity. Happy birthday dear love. Our happy ‘together’ moments."

Dharmendra and Hema Malini’s love story is one of Bollywood’s most beloved chapters. They married on May 2, 1980, after knowing each other for nearly a decade and sharing a relationship that blossomed over five years. By then, Dharmendra was already a father of four—Sunny, Bobby, Ajeeta and Vijeta—with his first wife, Prakash Kaur. Sunny and Bobby Deol would later go on to become major stars, carrying forward their father’s cinematic legacy.

With Hema Malini, Dharmendra became the proud father of daughters Esha and Ahana, who often speak of the warmth and tenderness they received from their father.

On his birth anniversary, Dharmendra’s children—Sunny Deol and Esha Deol—also remembered him with deeply emotional messages that reflected the void his absence has left behind.

Sunny posted a video clip with the words, "Today is my father's birthday. Papa is always with me, inside me love you papa. Miss you."
