Volkswagen sells Virtus, Taigun, Tiguan R-Line and Golf GTI in India.

Are you looking to own an affordable German car? If yes, this might be the perfect time for you as Volkswagen has announced the return of Autofest, the company's much-anticipated national exchange carnival.

As part of the limited-period Volkswagen Autofest, the company is offering exclusive exchange and finance offers, loyalty rewards and comprehensive service packages. Apart from new models, the offers can be availed on pre-owned cars as well.

The following are the key highlights of the Volkswagen Autofest national exchange carnival.

Volkswagen currently offers four models -- Virtus mid-size sedan, Taigun mid-size SUV, Tiguan R-Line premium SUV and Golf GTI premium hatchback.

While the Virtus and the Taigun are manufactured in India, the Tiguan R-Line and the Golf GTI are completely built-up (CBU) models.

The Virtus is priced between Rs 11.56 lakh and Rs 19.40 lakh (ex-showroom). The Taigun starts at Rs 11.80 lakh and goes up to Rs 19.83 lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiguan R-Line SUV is priced at Rs 49 lakh (ex-showroom). The Golf GTI hatchback gets a price tag of Rs 53 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Virtus and the Taigun have the same two engine options -- 1.0-litre TSI petrol and 1.5-litre TSI EVO petrol. The 1.0-litre unit develops 115 PS of maximum power and 178 Nm of peak torque with transmission options being 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT. The 1.5-litre unit is good for 150 PS of maximum power and 250 Nm of peak torque with transmission options like 6-speed MT and 7-speed DSG.

The Tiguan R-Line employs a 2.0-litre TSI EVO petrol engine, which produces 204 PS of maximum power and 320 Nm of peak torque. The engine is clubbed with a 7-speed DSG transmission. The SUV comes with all-wheel drive capability, 4MOTION, as standard.

At the heart of the Golf GTI is a more powerful 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, which generates 265 PS and 370 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG. The car can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in just 5.9 seconds.
