Lamborghini has presented the design concept of the Temerario Super Trofeo car, which will make its competitive debut in the Asian, European and North American championships from 2027. The model was unveiled at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli during the Lamborghini World Finals, and becomes the sixth Super Trofeo model developed by Lamborghini Squadra Corse.
The Temerario Super Trofeo succeeds the Huracan, which served as the reference vehicle for Lamborghini Super Trofeo competition across three iterations since 2015. It follows the Temerario GT3, introduced at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July and due to debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring next March. Both models continue Lamborghini Squadra Corse's investment in customer racing.
"In 2009, we made the bold decision to launch the Gallardo Super Trofeo," stated Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. "Lamborghini was not born as a racing brand, yet our customers -- more than 1,300 drivers have competed in Super Trofeo -- have constantly asked us for a product designed for the track. Over the years, Super Trofeo and customer racing have become a true pillar of our long-term company strategy, strengthening the bond between the brand and its most passionate clients. With the Temerario Super Trofeo we are taking another decisive step, reaffirming our promise to deliver a pure race car for the growing community that joins us during the Lamborghini Super Trofeo weekends," he added.
Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, said, "The Temerario Super Trofeo is the ultimate expression of our 'fun-to-drive' philosophy. We created a car that is the pure racing evolution of the road going Temerario. Thanks to its direct link to the Temerario GT3, which shares many components, including the engine and gearbox -- it is the ideal entry point for those eager to experience the world of GT competition."
The Temerario Super Trofeo is a rear-wheel-drive car powered by a 650 CV V8 twin-turbo (non-hybrid) and uses a 6-speed sequential transmission with the same Hoer gearbox as the Temerario GT3. The car is built on an ALU/CFK hybrid chassis with a fully integrated FIA roll cage. It is fitted with ABS braking and a 12-point adjustable traction control system.
The Temerario Super Trofeo will introduce Dinamica Infinity -- described as the world's first 100% PES mono-component non-woven suede for automotive -- which will be used on dashboards when the model debuts in 2027.
