Honda City Sport launched in India at Rs 14.89 lakh

The Honda City Sport will be available in limited units.

Honda Cars India today announced the launch of the City Sport, priced at Rs 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The new edition of the popular sedan offers blacked-out elements on the exterior as well as inside the cabin, which also boasts contrasting red highlights along with ambient lighting.

The new Honda City Sport will be available in limited units, in three colour options -- Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl and Meteoroid Grey Metallic.

The sedan employs a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, which generates 121 PS of maximum power and 145 Nm of peak torque. While the standard City has 6-speed manual and CVT automatic transmission options, the City Sport only gets CVT with a claimed range of 18.40 kmpl. The CVT version of the sedan has paddle shifters as well.

The blacked-out elements characterise the City Sport. The grille and outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs) have been blacked out. The vehicle also gets a black shark fin antenna, a black trunk lip spoiler and a 'SPORT' emblem. The complete look is complemented by grey multi-spoke alloy wheels.

The cabin of the City Sport has an all-black layout with all-black upholstery. The contrasting red stitching on the upholstery and red garnish on the dashboard enhance the sporty appeal of the cabin. The contrasting red stitching pattern is found on door inserts and steering wheel as well. The dark theme further extends to the roof lining and pillars. The AC vents have a glossy black finish in the City Sport.

A seven-colour rhythmic ambient light enhances the premium quotient of the City Sport. The sedan does come with Honda's ADAS (Sensing) technology.

The Honda City rivals the likes of the Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus.
