The two-wheeler segment witnessed some green shoots in July 2025 as the domestic wholesale despatches to dealerships increased with Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India riding past Hero MotoCorp to take the numero uno position, and TVS Motor Company and Royal Enfield clocking handsome volumes.
However, Bajaj Auto and Suzuki Motorcycle India registered a decline in their wholesales.
Honda beat Hero again as its volumes rose 6.2% year-on-year (y-o-y) at 4,66,331 units in July 2025. During the month, the company introduced two new motorcycles -- Shine 100 DX and CB125 Hornet. While the Shine 100 DX is priced at Rs 74,959 (ex-showroom), the CB125 Hornet is available for Rs 1,12,000 (ex-showroom, introductory).
The wholesales of Hero jumped 18.7% y-o-y at 4,12,397 units in July 2025. "Retail activity remained stable, and with the upcoming festive season, volumes are projected to rise in the coming months," the company said in an official statement.
For Hero, it was an action-packed month as the company launched the HF Deluxe Pro motorcycle at Rs 73,550 (ex-showroom) and the Vida VX2 electric scooter range. You can have the Vida VX2 for as low as Rs 44,990 with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option and Rs 84,990 (ex-showroom) without it.
TVS continued to shine with its two-wheeler volumes climbing 21.4% y-o-y at 3,08,720 units in July 2025. The company will have a busy year ahead as it announced in its FY25 annual report that it will launch an adventure tourer motorcycle, electric bicycles and four new models of the iconic British brand, Norton Motorcycles, this fiscal.
While the two-wheeler volumes of Bajaj slipped 17.5% y-o-y at 1,39,279 units in July 2025, Suzuki suffered a decline of 4.5% y-o-y at 96,029 units during the month.
"As we head into the festive season, we remain focussed on delivering a seamless and satisfying experience to our customers and continue our efforts towards sustaining momentum in the months to come," said Deepak Mutreja, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Suzuki.
Royal Enfield's wholesales increased 24.6% y-o-y at 76,254 units in July 2025. "We are extremely pleased with the sustained demand momentum across our product portfolio. Our new range of motorcycles on the Sherpa 450 platform, and the new refreshed Hunter 350, are seeing excellent reception both in India and global markets. With a strong focus on product innovation, global outreach and community engagement, we are confident of further consolidating our leadership in the mid-size motorcycle segment," said Royal Enfield CEO and Eicher Motors MD B Govindarajan.
