Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has introduced a fresh battery subscription plan for the Activa e: electric scooter. Aimed at users with a lower daily riding requirements, the new BaaS Lite plan is relatively affordable in comparison to the already existing Basic and Advance plans.
According to the two-wheeler manufacturer, the Activa e:'s BaaS Lite plan is priced at Rs 678 for 20 kWh energy usage per month. On the other hand, the Basic plan comes at Rs 1,999 for 35 kWh energy usage a month and the Advance plan is available for Rs 3,599 for 87 kWh energy usage every month.
The Activa e: features Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, a swappable battery system developed by Japan's Honda Motor Company and managed by Honda Power Pack Energy India.
The electric scooter features two 1.5 kWh swappable lithium-ion batteries, with the claimed range (IDC) being at 102 km on full charge. At the heart of the Activa e: is a permanent magnet synchronous motor, delivering 6 kW of maximum power and 22 Nm of peak torque.
Honda claims that the Activa e: can reach 60 kmph from standstill in 7.3 seconds and attain a top speed of 80 kmph. The interesting part is that the batteries cannot be charged at home and the users need to swap them at Honda e:Swap stations.
The Activa e: boasts LED lights (head, tail and indicators), 7-inch TFT display, three ride modes (Eco, Standard and Sport), reverse mode, 15 W USB-C port, and Honda RoadSync Duo connectivity technology.
Built on an under bone frame, the electric scooter gets a telescopic front suspension and 3-step adjustable spring loaded hydraulic unit at the rear. There are 12-inch diamond cut alloy wheels at the front and rear. Also, there is a 160 mm disc brake at the front and a 130 mm drum brake at the rear.
The Activa e: is available in two variants -- standard and RoadSync Duo. While the standfard variant is priced at Rs 1,17,428 (ex-showroom), the RoadSync Duo can be had for Rs 1,52,028 (ex-showroom).
