Nissan has only teased the exteriors of the Gravite.

Nissan Motor India has revealed the name of its upcoming multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). The model will be called the Nissan Gravite. The Nissan Gravite MPV launch is scheduled for January 2026. The seven-seater Nissan Gravite car will be the first product introduced under the company's refreshed product strategy for the Indian market. The MPV is expected to reach showrooms by March 2026.

The Nissan Gravite was first announced in July 2024 as part of Nissan's product roadmap for India. The Nissan Gravite MPV will be the second model under the company's planned product offensive. As per the timeline shared by Nissan, the Nissan Gravite MPV launch date in India will be followed by the introduction of the Nissan Tekton in mid-2026. A new seven-seater SUV is scheduled for early 2027.

According to Nissan, the Nissan Gravite MPV has been developed keeping Indian family requirements in focus. The model will offer seating for seven occupants. The company said the MPV will focus on cabin flexibility, modular seating and space utilisation. These aspects are intended to support both daily commuting and longer family journeys.

In terms of design, the Nissan Gravite will follow the brand's global design language. It will feature Nissan's C-shaped front grille used across several global models. The MPV will also get hood branding and rear-door badging. The rear design will continue the C-shaped interlock theme seen on other Nissan vehicles. We expect all-LED exterior lighting.

Inside the cabin, we are expecting features like an automatic climate control, touchscreen infotainment, digital instrument panel and multi-function steering wheel. In terms of safety equipment, it is expected to boast six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, brake assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

The Nissan Gravite MPV will be based on the CMF-A+ platform, which is also used by the Renault Triber. Similar powertrains are expected. This includes a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit producing 72PS of power and 96Nm of torque. Transmission options are expected to include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

The Nissan Gravite MPV will be manufactured locally at the Renault-Nissan facility in Chennai. Nissan said local production supports its strategy of developing vehicles for Indian customers while also enabling exports.

The Nissan Gravite MPV price in India is expected to be between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). Other than the Renault Triber, it will have no direct rival in the market.

Alongside the Nissan Gravite MPV launch, the company is expanding its dealership network. Nissan has said that it is increasing its presence across Tier I and Tier II cities to improve accessibility and customer reach.
