American political scientist and noted author Christine Fair used Hindi expletive word "c**tiya" to describe US President Donald Trump during a recent interview with Pakistan-origin British journalist Moeed Pirzada. The clip has gone viral on social media.
Fair, who has written books on Pakistan army, criticised the Trump administration over its recent foreign policy decisions and stressed that the complicated American bureaucracy will prevail over the current geopolitical situation.
When Pirzada asked Fair whether America has moved beyond India as a security partner following Trump's tariff measures against New Delhi, she responded: "I don't think US has moved beyond it (India) ... I don't think the bureaucracies have. I can't speak for the patina of officials in the Trump administration. You know ... Unfortunately, many of the Trump officials are not terribly expert in their field. So it's very tempting to just take down as the singular force that matters. But one does have to remember that we have this complicated bureaucracy and this bureaucracy has been really working toward this relationship for these 25 years.”
She rued that the US bureaucracy has been vitiated in the last few months, adding that America lost thousands of State Department personnel. " ... so the optimist in me would like to believe the bureaucracy is going to hold it together, but the pessimist in me says this is six months and we have got four years of this ... of this ... c**tiya. I know I can't live in this country after four years.”

Her remark evoked laughter from Pirzada who pointed out her choice of word to describe Trump. Fair responded: "Well, he is a "c**tiya."
She later joked that her Virgina licence plate also reads "c**tiya".
The remark sparked hilarious reaction on social media, with people saying that the Hindi word has now gone global. "This was too hillarious. The word c**tiya has now gone global," one user commented.
"This is the real globalization of indian culture," said another.
Fair has been critical of the Trump administration and has called out the US President for his “inconsistent statements and policy flip-flops.”
