US President Donald Trump on Monday warned Iran of a significantly stronger military response if it attempts to interfere with global oil flows amid the ongoing Middle East conflict.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that any attempt to disrupt oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz would trigger a response “twenty times harder" than the previous US strike
“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America twenty times harder than they have been hit thus far," he said.

Trump further said that this is a gift for global trade, particularly benefiting China and other nations that heavily use the Strait of Hormuz for their oil shipments.
“This is a gift from the United States of America to China, and all of those Nations that heavily use the Hormuz Strait. Hopefully, it is a gesture that will be greatly appreciated," he added.
The remarks came as tensions in the region continue to push oil prices higher, with energy markets reacting sharply to fears that supplies could be disrupted during the war.
"I will not allow a terrorist regime to hold the world hostage and attempt to stop the globe's oil supply. And if Iran does anything to do that, they'll get hit at a much, much harder level," Trump said while addressing a news conference in Florida.
Trump’s comments signal that Washington is prepared to escalate its response if Tehran moves to block or threaten the movement of crude shipments, particularly through key shipping routes that are critical for global energy trade.
Oil markets have been on edge since the outbreak of hostilities, with prices climbing amid concerns that the conflict could affect supplies from the Gulf, a region responsible for a large share of the world’s crude exports.
The US president’s warning underscores the growing stakes surrounding energy security as the war unfolds, with governments and markets closely watching whether the fighting could spill over into vital oil transport corridors.
Trump made the remarks during a press conference in Florida, where he addressed the conflict and the rising concerns over the impact of the war on global oil supply.
