Pakistani security forces killed at least 10 terrorists, including a high-value target with a government bounty, in separate intelligence-driven operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the army said Thursday.
In a statement, the army said two terrorists, including ring leader Dilawar, were killed during an operation in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday, reported news agency PTI. Dilawar was described as a high-value target wanted by law enforcement for involvement in multiple terrorist attacks. The government had placed a PKR 4 million bounty on him.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, the army said, noting they had been actively involved in attacks on security forces and civilians in the region.
In a separate intelligence-based raid the same day in Kalat district, Balochistan, security forces killed eight terrorists after an intense exchange of fire, the statement added. Authorities recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the site.
“These terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area,” the army said, adding that a sanitisation operation was underway to eliminate any remaining militants.
Earlier this month, security forces killed 12 terrorists in a similar operation in Kalat.
Pakistan ranked second on the Global Terrorism Index 2025 in March, with fatalities from terrorist attacks rising by 45% compared to the previous year.
