US President Donald Trump on Monday shared a photo of himself and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was featured in a magazine titled Newsmakers of the Year 2025, which the magazine captioned as “The mover & the shaker.”
He also posted a photograph of New Delhi’s India Gate on his Truth Social account, calling the iconic monument a “beautiful triumphal arch.”
This comes as US President Donald Trump, speaking to Moneycontrol during the World Economic Forum in Davos, expressed confidence in a “good trade deal” with India, describing Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “fantastic leader” and a great friend.
Trump added, “I have great respect for your Prime Minister. He's a fantastic man and a friend of mine. We are going to have a good deal."
Trump also had a call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi US envoy Sergio Gor confirmed. Sharing a photograph of the two leaders from Trump’s February 2020 visit to India at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, American Ambassador Sergio Gor wrote on X: “STAY TUNED…”.
This comes as External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is on a three-day visit to the United States from February 2 to February 4, 2026, to participate in the Critical Minerals Ministerial convened by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Earlier last month, speaking to the media at the World Economic Forum, Trump expressed confidence about a strong trade deal with India and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a “fantastic man”.
