A group of tourists from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have issued an urgent plea for help after being stranded in Bahrain, saying they are caught in what they describe as a “very dangerous situation” following turmoil at the airport.

The appeal surfaced through a video circulating online, in which one of the men explained that the group had travelled from Hyderabad on February 24 on tourist visas and had planned to return within four days. Their departure, however, was derailed when violence reportedly broke out as they waited to check in.

“We came here from Hyderabad on the 24th to visit Bahrain on a tourist visa. After four days, when we returned and reached the airport, while we were standing in the check-in line, bombs were dropped, missiles were dropped, counters were closed,” he said.

Claiming they have received little assistance, he added, “There was no proper response from the Indian embassy. We are in a very dangerous situation here.”

According to the group, several senior citizens are among those stranded and are struggling without access to regular medication. “We have elderly people with us. They have diabetes and BP. Without a prescription, no one is given tablets here,” the man said.

He also described their current living conditions. “Not just us, we are in a single apartment, in a two-bedroom flat. There are so many of us here. The Telugu people who know us here are giving us one-time meals,” he said.

A woman in the video said their financial resources have been exhausted. “We have run out of money. It is difficult for us to survive. Please help us. We request you to take a decision and arrange for us to be brought back,” she said.

Another woman spoke about the distress among their families in India. “All our family members are in India. They are worried about us. They are begging us. Please help us,” she said.

One of the oldest members of the group, aged 73, said he had run out of essential medicines. “I am 73 years old. I have completed all the medicines I have taken. If I want to buy medicine, no one will give it to me without a prescription. Please help me to get home as soon as possible,” he said.

The stranded tourists have appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to intervene and arrange their safe return.

“We request Modi, Chandra Babu Naidu, and Revanth Reddy and the Telugu people to help us. When you watch this video, please help us and send us back to our respective areas,” one of them said.

There has been no official statement so far from the Centre or the two state governments on possible evacuation measures.
